Katherine Venter

Katherine is a nature conservationist with a key interest in entomology and plant ecology. She also has a passion for environmental education and connecting people with nature through her love of field guiding. She has a particular interest in pollination, with a key focus on bee pollinators. She has a true passion for bee conservation within the arid regions of South Africa. 

 

She is currently enrolled at Nelson Mandela University, George Campus, for her MSc Nature Conservation course. Her supervisors include Dr Anina Coetzee (NMU) and Prof Sjirk Geerts (CPUT). She will be working on Cape Honeybee research for her MSc, focusing on the impact that farmed Honeybees have on the densities of wild pollinators within a resource-stressed environment.
