Project Description:

Fraser has an agriculture background with experience in working with rural communities at the edges of protected areas in promoting sustainable livelihoods, human-wildlife coexistence and environmental management. He has skills in future literacy, anticipatory governance tools and using different participatory processes on working in a multistakeholder environment.

His interests are in working at the interface of natural resources and social development in a multidisciplinary thematic landscape including aspects of community livelihood development, sustainable landscape development, nature conservation and social sciences amongst others.

He is currently doing his MSc at Nelson Mandela University, George Campus in the Nature Conservation Department under the supervision of Dr Chloe Guerbois and Dr James G Sekonya. He is working on the evolution and future of practices regulating wild food foraging in conservation areas. This project is hosted by the Sustainability Research Unit of NMU in conjunction with IRL REHABS.
